It is my job to figure out your style and capture the "real you". I can help you plan the details of your senior portrait session, from clothing to locations, so that you get the most out of your senior portrait experience.
 

Dawn Heldreth Photography is a full service studio offering a variety of products that our clients love including prints, collages, coffee table books, graduation cards, wall decor and custom framing so we can meet all of your needs.
 

An honest, straightforward, flexible approach that's quite different from other senior portrait photographers is what we strive to achieve. As senior portrait artists, we go the extra mile for our clients to create really interesting alternative senior portraits. We'd like to think that's us.  We'd also like to think that we have a passion, a need...really…to make your senior portraits uniquely yours and look like nobody else's. But you be the judge.

THE PLANNING SESSION

Before your photo shoot we like to  talk with you and your parents to get to know you and plan your photo session. During your consultation we explore your ideas, interests, activities, accomplishments and other things that make you special and work with you to plan your photo session so that we can create the images you will love. We'll cover the details from locations, clothing, timing and any special requests. It's not unusual for our clients to want to make changes before the photo shoot so don't hesitate to give us a call with your ideas or changes. We prefer to meet our clients in person, however if that is not practical, we can meet with you over the phone.
 

YOUR PHOTO SHOOT
Most of our senior shoots are about 2 hours and usually take place early in the morning or late afternoon/early evening when the sun provides the most flattering light. We carefully plan your shoot to make the best use of the natural light and locations. We like to minimize travel and keep you in front of the camera as much as possible. Most clients choose to have their photo shoots entirely on location. Most high schools will accept yearbook photos that we create on location so there is seldom need to do portraits in the studio unless clients desire in studio styles. We try very hard to make your photo shoot unique, No one wants to have photos that look like everyone else's.
 

CLOTHING
We have a few general rules for clothing: Wear what you love! Bring extra outfits! Accessorize as much as you are comfortable! The rest really depends on the location and look we are trying to achieve. Bring along your sports jerseys, your letterman jacket, or your sporting equipment. Some seniors bring their musical instruments, prized vehicle or favorite pets. We don't put arbitrary limits on outfit changes because every senior and every situation is different. In the rare case where the number of outfits you are thinking of seems too few for the variety you are looking for or too many for the time we have planned for, we'll advise you.
 

LOCATIONS
We prefer to go the extra mile and photograph you at locations that are special to you so your pictures have more meaning. We have our own favorite locations as well so we can make recommendations to suit what you are looking for and in close proximity to keep travel between locations to a minimum.  There are plenty of park locations and city locations that we can recommend. If we can’t find a location that you love, we always have the option of traveling to larger nearby cities to get amazing shots that your friends will only dream of having! (travel fees apply)
 

CHOOSING AND ORDERING
Two to three weeks after your photo shoot we meet with you to show you your fully edited images, help you pick your favorites and place your order. We present you with 40-60 fully edited images, along with our suggestions, and help you to quickly edit down to a manageable number for the products you are interested in. Payment for your order is due in full at the time it is placed.
 

PROOFING
​Most clients preview their images in their online gallery before our ordering meeting. All images are fully edited before being uploaded into your online gallery.
 

PICKUP AND DELIVERY
Print orders are usually completed in about one week. Orders including albums can take 4-5 weeks. 

COST AND SCHEDULING
Our fee for photo shoots is $200, this fee goes towards our time to plan your photo shoot, photograph you and edit and prepare your preview images. The fee is not applied towards the purchase of any products. Payment for your photo shoot is due when we put you on our schedule.  Should you desire to go to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, or area further than 10 miles then time/travels costs will apply.
 

AVAILABILITY
We recommend scheduling your session based on several variables, the season in which you want to be photographed, school/sports schedules, and availability of locations chosen. Many times choice locations are reserved for special events. Athletes typically want to be photographed before peak sport season begins due practice time constraints and availability of sports facilities for photo sessions.
 

PRINTS, PRODUCTS and PACKAGES
We are a full service studio offering photographic prints, wall decor, coffee table books, announcements and invitations, custom framing and one-of-a-kind art prints.
 

PAYMENTS
​We accept all major credit cards. Checks should be made payable to Dawn Heldreth Photography and can be mailed to 610 Barbcliff Dr, Canfield, OH 44406.
 

FAQ
What happens of it rains?
We reschedule your appointment for our next mutually available opening.
 

Do you have packages?
We sell prints a la carte. You are not forced to buy packages that may contain prints that you do not want.
 

Do you offer images on digital media?
We offer Digital Collections of your favorite retouched, full-resolution images with full rights to print and reproduce.
